You'll blast your way through wave after wave of Klingons or Romulans on your way to the Klingon and Romulan motherships. These enemies are faster than you, and have no problem firing on you at every opportunity. You have only your wits, a number of photon torpedos, a semi-effective shield, and a space station to help you. Docking with the space station (which looks like a cartoon sombrero) will restore your shields and torpedoes. Once you shoot all the enemies in an area, you'll move on to the next as you make your way to the motherships. You can save yourself a little time and dock with the black hole (that series of concentric squares in the picture) to jump right to the mothership, which will likely kill you immediately. The game gets pretty hard pretty fast, but it doesn't stop being fun. It's not necessarily a whole lot like any of the Star Trek series or the movie it is supposedly based on. It's just a fun non-stop space blast-fest. It's like a non-thinking man's Star Raiders. I mean that in the best possible way.

Strak Trek: The Motion Picture (Vectrex Game)
Star Trek is a shooter in the Star Raiders vein that manages to give a fairly decent rendering of classic Star Trek enemies in a gamplay package that requires absolutely no Star Trek knowledge to play.
