This three track 10" EP features two covers and one original track by Josephine Wiggs. The Josephine Wiggs track, "Head to Toe," opens the album with a garage rock squonk. This is as primitive as The Breeders have ever sounded, and it's an interesting little jag.
The cover of "Shocker in Gloomtown," a Guided by Voices track, is fairly nondescript. It's a decent cover, but it's over before you knew it began.
Sebadoh's "Freed Pig" rounds out the album with layers upon layers of fuzz. It's a nice track, but by the time this EP was done, I found myself wishing I was listening to Pod or Last Splash. Head to Toe is a pretty good EP, but is really only necessary for Breeders completists. For the rest of us, the band's studio output should more than suffice.
