Beachwood Sparks' debut self-titled album sounds more than a little like Gram Parsons. Beachwood Sparks basically picks up where Grievous Angel left off and moves on from there.
There are hints of indie and psychedelia in Beachwood Sparks, but there's much more guitar pickin' and steel guitar slidin'. Just take a listen to "This is What it Feels Like" and tell me you can't hear the Gram Parsons leanings. This is a very good album and a whole lot of fun to listen to. In addition to "This is What it Feels Like," "Old Sea Miner" is a highly recommended track.
Baleeted? No. This album is way too intriguing.
