I fear that in the passing years people have forgotten just what a great film this was and what a groundbreaking soundtrack this still is. I first watched O Brother with my little brother and the whole time we were looking at each other and saying, "I can't believe someone was smart and awesome enough to think of this." I bought the album as soon as it was available and have not regretted it for even a single moment. This soundtrack is filled with soul, gospel, and old timey bluegrass. It's the sounds of the south in a bygone era. I'm getting dizzy as I write these words. I'm sick and in no condition to review music.
