This EP features a few of the songs that would be released on Matt Sharp's first non-Rentals post-Weezer album. This EP as well as Matt's self-titled solo album is marked by wistful indie folk. It's somewhere along the lines of early Iron and Wine. That's a little suprising given Matt's propensity for larger-than-life fuzzed-out rock. "Goodbye West Coast" is absolutely charming, and almost always brings a tear to my eye. The other songs aren't quite as potent, but they are all still very good.
