I found out about Sahara Hotnights on a listening post at Hoodlum's. It wasn't a tough sell. Four Swedish ladies who play loud garage-ish punk-ish rock? Yes, please.
Jennie Bomb was everything I wanted it to be. It rocked hard, but it wasn't just noise for noise's sake. The songs are well-crafted in an early Joan Jett sort of a way. The album opener, as you can see here, kicks things off with a real bang and the album is absolutely relentless from top to bottom. The only thing I can say against this album is that it leaves you almost begging for a change of pace as each song pummels your ears harder than the one before it (especially if you have tinnitus like me).
