I love Electric Light Orchestra. L.E.O. is a tribute to the classic ELO sound. All of the songs on the album are originals, and the entire project was spearheaded by Bleu and Mike Viola of Candy Butchers fame. In addition to those fine gentlemen the album also features members of Jellyfish (Andy Sturmer), Papas Fritas (Tony Goddess), Self (Matt Mahaffey), The Black Crowes (Steve Gorman), and as if that were not odd enough they are joined by Jason Scheff of Chicago and all the brothers from Hanson (yes, the Mmmbop ones).
This album is not a perfect ELO clone, but I'm not sure it was meant to be one. It's an excellent one-off that reminds me how awesome ELO was in their day and how classic their sound was. Regardless of your feelings about ELO or any of the aforementioned bands, I double dog dare you to not like "Ya Had Me Goin'."
