Rockity Roll is a lot like Skittish only even more so. On Rockity Roll you get the addition of a drum machine and some vintage-sounding synths to accompany the voice and guitar that made up Skittish. It took the good thing that Skittish had going and added a little spice to it. I'm a sucker for vintage-style synths, so this album is right up my oddly specific alley. Rockity Roll has a lot of pep in its step. It sounds to my ears like the exact perfect formula for a Mike Doughty album. A little back beat, a little synth, some rhythmic strumming and Mike Doughty's unmistakable voice. If you like anything the man has ever done, you will like this. If you like music you should, according to the transitive musical enjoyment property, enjoy this album. I recommend it freely to one and all.
