The Black Keys-Chulahoma
Not only are the Black Keys fantastically talented, they are serious students of blues history. They know that their thick, chunky, fuzzed out blues would not be possible were it not for Junior Kimbrough, among others. Chulahoma is a tribute to Junior Kimbrough with 6 classic Kimbrough tracks done up in Black Keys style. At the end of the disc is a short message left by Kimbrough's wife stating that The Black Keys were just about the only people who could cover her late husband's work properly. That statements cements it: The Black Keys are without question the greatest two man blues band to ever come out of Akron, Ohio.
