When I returned home from a 2 year stint in Cambodia in 2000, I found myself trying to catch up on all the pop culture that had happened while I was gone (most of which was crap. All the boy bands and pop divas broke out while I was away). There was a tv station that used to play music videos but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Anyway, I innocently tuned to that station and immediately had my face melted by the video for "One Armed Scissor." My brother-in-law whose home I was crashing in at the time ran into the room and said, "What in the world are you watching?!" I don't remember what my response was, but I remember thinking that I had to get this album in my hands. Just because I like to flex my mental muscles I'll throw in this little note: the next video that came on was "Hammerless Nail" by New Bomb Turks. I now own both albums, but I listen to Relationship of Command more often than Scared Straight.
Anyway, Relationship of Command was my first introduction to At the Drive In and it made a lasting impression. As you have probably noticed, I start to wax rhapsodic when I start talking about how great At the Drive In is. Let's just say that I love their entire catalog and will recommend it to anyone who bothers to ask.
