The Apples in Stereo are the kind of band that simply needs to exist. It's as if the universe willed them into existence that there might be harmony and happiness. I first heard the song "Strawberryfire" as one of the free tracks that came with whatever version of Windows Media Player was out at the time. Without looking I thought it was some deep Beatles cut that I'd never heard before.
Her Wallpaper Reverie is an interesting album. The songs are fantastic and the interludes (there are more interludes than songs) set an interesting tone. Most of the interludes are variations on a theme played on a toy piano. The songs are undeniably Beatles-esque. Each one is a pop masterpiece fit for framing. I can't say enough about how great this band is, and I'm not going to blow it all on this album. There are several more Apples in Stereo albums to come.
(author's note: after reading this entry again, I have come to the conclusion that the opening line of this entry is the most pretentious thing I have ever written)
